3/4/11   As a key component of the MIT150 celebration series, the Koch Institute building dedication will take place on March 4, 2011 from 4-5PM and is open to the entire MIT community. Following the formal dedication ceremony event, a reception will be held in the new (opening that day) ground floor Public Educational Galleries. Please mark your calendars. More details to come.

THE POWER OF CONVERGENCE THE POWER OF CONVERGENCE

1/4/11     MIT scientists joined other experts in Washington to discuss emerging "convergence" trends occurring across biomedicine. Articulated in a white paper co-authored by 12 MIT faculty and presented in a forum hosted by the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the United States must capitalize on these trends — which involve the merger of life, physical and engineering sciences — by fostering and funding the innovation necessary to meet, among other things, the growing demand for accessible, affordable health care.

KI MEMBER TO RECEIVE MGH PRIZE KI MEMBER TO RECEIVE MGH PRIZE

12/16/10   Whitehead Institute Founding Member and Member of the Koch Institute, Rudolf Jaenisch has been named a recipient of the 2011 Warren Triennial Prize of the Massachusetts General Hospital. By tradition, the prize is awarded to two scientists, and Jaenisch will share the prize with Dr. Shinya Yamanaka, who is on the faculty of both Kyoto University in Japan and the Gladstone Institutes in San Francisco.
